Sea Oats - Uniola paniculata / Plug

A coarse perennial to 6 ft. with extensive creeping rhizomes. Readily roots at the nodes when covered in sand. The rhizomes, roots, leaves, and stems are highly important in stabilizing dunes. Inflorescence a panicle. Spikelets conspicuously flattened, with 8-20 florets. Common in dunes, beaches, and loose sands near seashores. Native from Virginia to Texas. Sold in plug trays with variable minimum quantities.
