Perennial low climbing vine to 10 feet. White flowers with purple-red centers, to 1-2 inches across, April-November. The flowers open up about noon and close before sunset. Dormant in winter. Climbs by twining, so it needs a fence or a trellis. Very drought tolerant and the nectar is used by butterflies. Native to Texas and Florida to South America.
